Cars in German Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police State

Around 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then located numerous other marked cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials say initial examinations suggest the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to its source; investigators are not yet informed of any harm in association with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were working "to solve the case" and have asked to the public for tips.

An important official said the attack rendered him without words and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This act hits the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the death of nine victims by a shooter targeting people of immigrant origin in 2020.
